Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Edobio's new Saketernal line, as well as my review of the Radiance Booster Mask.
If you guys remember a few years back, I reviewed their Floradiance Moisturizing Soufflé Soap. They recently expanded their skincare line to include a mask, toner and serum, and these products all fall under the Saketernal line.
If you're not yet familiar with Edobio, they're actually a Japanese brand inspired by the Edo period (1603-1868). Using cutting-edge Japanese biotechnology, they combine it with the ancient natural ingredients that have been in development in Japan since the Edo period.
Focusing on a simple ritual, Edobio aims to optimize the skin's natural abilities by using natural ingredients. They understand that living in modern times can be stressful on our skin, and they aim to provide products that rejuvenate and gently revitalize our skin.
The new Saketernal skincare line features something called Lactobacillus Fermented Sake Lees Extract. This is a special ingredient that has been handed down for generations since the Edo period. Using the power of Sake, the aim of this skincare line is to rejuvenate the skin and address the signs of ageing, giving you eternally youthful skin.
Like I mentioned, this range consists of 3 products, a mask, a toner and a serum. In this post, I'll be sharing all about the mask.

WHAT IS IT?
Edobio's Saketernal Radiance Booster Mask is a rinse-off clay mask helps the skin combat damage from external factors that the skin is exposed to in daily life, such as ultraviolet rays, dirt, pollution, temperature changes, dryness, and blue light. Containing mineral-rich Kucha (sea silt) from Okinawa, it helps to absorb microscopic pore dirt, while the lactic acid bacteria fermented sake lees extract provides moisture, softening the skin's texture and promoting a brighter complexion.
The full-sized 70g mask can be purchased online on Edobio's website here for RM246.75.
You can also opt for the Saketernal Trio Set that contains all 3 products for RM592.20 instead of RM814.28. Click here to check it out.
PACKAGING
The packaging is really clean and minimalist:Made from paper from sustainably managed forests, the boxes actually contain more info inside, and I find that better than including an additional leaflet as it's more environmentally conscious and they're actively reducing their paper waste which is great.
Not to worry, there's ample English information available on the packaging:
The mask itself comes in a tube which I prefer over tubs just for hygiene purposes:
This product contains no parabens, no artificial fragrances, no synthetic colours, no ethanol and no petroleum-based surfactants. It is also alcohol-free, silicone-free, EU-allergen free and contains very minimal ingredients.
After analyzing the ingredients, I found that they are mostly EWG green or yellow-level rated, meaning they will nor or are very unlikely to cause any irritation:
Ingredient List: Water, Propanediol, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Triethylhexanoin, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Rape- seed Alcohol, Pentylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Titanium Dioxide, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Polyacrylate Starch, Stearic Acid, Sorbitan Sesqui-isostearate, Octyldodecanol, Caramel, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Oryza Sativa Lees(Sake Kasu) Extract, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Hydroxide, Chlorophyllin-Copper Complex, Jojoba Esters, Trihydroxystearin, Alumina, Silica, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Seed Extract, Sea Silt, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Cellulose Gum, Phenoxyethanol
Like I mentioned above, the key ingredient in this product is Lactobacillus Fermented Sake Lees Extract. Sake kasu (or sake lees) is the solid material left over from the sake fermentation process after pressing. As a result of the sake fermentation process, sake contains kojic acid which can provide lightening and brightening benefits. This compound reduces the amount of melanin that the skin produces. This can help to lighten skin and reduce the appearance of freckles, sun spots, age spots and other dark areas. It also helps even skin tone. Sake also contains lots of amino acids that help to maintain hydration + give a supple appearance, and these amino acids also help with smoothening the skin and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
This mask also contains Kucha (sea silt), a beauty clay from Okinawa that absorbs dirt and reduces the appearance of pores. Those with dry skin will enjoy this because of the powerfully moisturizing Butylene Glycol and Glycerin, while those with oily skin will like the soothing properties of Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract. It also contains Titanium Dioxide which provides UV protection.
FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
Like a normal clay mask, it has a thick texture. It actually spread very easily so you do not need to dispense a lot to cover your entire face. It's pretty easy to wash off when it's dry and it does not strip my face of moisture nor does it feel too tightening on the skin.
HOW TO APPLY
According to the Edobio, they recommend to apply this mask after washing and drying your face. Start by dispensing about a 2cm dollop and applying it gently to the face, avoiding the eye area.
Rest the product on the face for around 5-10 minutes, then rinse away with lukewarm water. It is recommended to use this mask 2-3 times a week!
MY REVIEW AND VERDICT
Overall I find this mask to be a great one as it doesn't really give my that annoying tight feeling that I usually experience with other clay masks. This actually leaves my skin feeling soft and supple, and I love that about it.
In terms of effects, I would say that I do see some brightening effects after continued usage. I like this mask more for the supple texture that it provides my skin, and I do think that the products that I later on top after cleansing the mask off does tend to absorb better into my skin.
WILL I REPURCHASE
Definitely! I quite like using this together with the rest of the Saketernal line, and I would definitely consider purchasing them again.
