Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about my recent visit to St Regis Kuala Lumpur, as well as a little tour of their Caroline Astor Suite, the pool area and the Astor Bar.
So just a little background, my friend Kaylee (who's going to be returning to New Zealand soon) was staying in St Regis, and before she left, we decided to meet up and hang out. I've always wanted to check out St Regis and try out their high tea set but fate was never on my side, so it was a great opportunity to finally tour and explore this luxurious hotel. I've been to most of the high-end hotels in the main KL city centre but St Regis was the last on my list!
First thing's first, a lot of sources say it's connected to KL Sentral, but it's actually not. You still have to take a car from KL Sentral to be able to reach St Regis, and I'm not sure if they have any complimentary shuttle services back and forth.
I'd say their reception/lounge looked pretty luxe, and it kind of reminded me of a bigger version of the residence I stayed at in Bangkok a while back.
Across the residence is The Drawing Room where their afternoon high tea is served, and the space was smaller than I expected it to be.
I didn't exactly ask Kaylee which suite they were staying at as I thought it might be a bit weird (and also because I forgot to ask lol), but judging from the website I think it's the Caroline Astor Suite with the 1 bedroom and the garden view. I also didn't really want to snap much photos for their privacy, so some of the room pics here are borrowed from St Regis' website.
I have to say, the room was gorgeous. The marble was so pretty and the decor was very tastefully done.
We were also joined by Reiko that day, and we started the day off with some breakfast. I have to say the food was quite good, especially their avocado toast.
One thing that caught my eye immediately was the minibar trunk, which was so luxe and extra! It kind of reminded me of the Louis Vuitton trunks, and since those trunks are so heavy, I bet converting it into a useful snack bar like this would actually be better than using it for travelling haha.
After breakfast, Kaylee brought us around to explore the hotel a bit. Since it was Covid-season, there weren't a lot of guests and we could comfortably explore without bumping into anybody.
The pool area was actually empty, and we managed to snap a few nice shots:
Staycation vibes!
It started raining after a bit, so we headed back to the room to order some lunch via Grab.
While waiting, I decided to take advantage of the super pretty marble bathroom and snap a few pictures for my blog/IG. To be honest, out of all the hotel bathrooms in KL that I've seen, I think St Regis takes the cake. It's so pretty, and the big windows make sure that it's lit super well!
I took some Clef product pics by the bathtub:
If you guys remember, I bought this set from Dior last Christmas. This bathroom was the perfect place to snap some shots (and I actually did take a lot). Here they are in all their glory:
Although it came with its own box, I couldn't resist playing around with this aesthetic gray box as well:
Here are some of the box's details. I purely got this set because I love the box design and it's reusable. An example of consumer behaviour hahaha.
For this holiday set, you get an extra box and 2 deluxe-sized items with the renewed serum:
Technically the Le Lotion and Le Creme are freebies:
The serum that comes with this set is the new formula that was released in September last year:
I can't wait to use these products and share my review soon!
We spent the rest of the day just chilling and chatting, waiting for our lunch to arrive. Unfortunately, our driver got stuck in the rain, and we only managed to eat a very late lunch. Didn't really have any complaints though because the room was super comfy and we had a great time chit-chatting.
Reiko had to leave after a while, and before I made a move, Kaylee and I decided to visit the Astor Bar for some drinks. Because we're extra, we actually changed and dressed up so we could take nice pics!
The Astor Bar is usually open daily from 5pm till midnight, but it might change during this MCO if there's any new SOPs released.
Offering more than 650 labels from multiple regions and producers, the Astor Bar is a glamorous bar with luxurious decor.
In the Astor Bar there's this room with a gold-tiled roof:
If it looks familiar, it's actually because it's from that one iconic scene from Crazy Rich Asians where Astrid buys her Burmese pearl drop earrings!
In the movie they transformed the room into a private jewellery viewing room, but in reality, it's a room in the bar usually filled with different wine bottles:
In conjunction with the movie, the bar released 2 drinks named after two of the main characters - Eleanor and Astrid:
Since they were having a buy 1 free 1 promo, Kaylee and I both had one of each. I would say that both are nice, but I preferred the Eleanor. Maybe it's because I prefer vodka haha.
Of course we had to snap some pics in the iconic room, so here's us with our drinks:
We spent the rest of our time chatting some more, and if you're looking for a nice place to chill, I recommend visiting this bar because the ambience is really cozy.
Evening came and it was time for me to head back, so we walked down these stairs and passed by The Drawing Room again:
Kaylee took some of the pastries she reserved so she could bring them back to her room, and she surprised me by giving me some desserts to bring back with me as well! I felt really thankful because she didn't have to (as I already felt like she'd done enough by having me over T.T). If you're reading this Kaylee, thanks again so much!
After that, we bid each other adieu and went our separate ways. I'm not really sure when we'll be able to see each other again since Covid has really changed travelling, so it was nice to be able to spend the whole day with her in such an awesome and luxe place.
It's definitely on my bucket list to personally stay here in the future, and I hope that day comes soon because I cannot wait to visit St Regis again.
And that was it for this mini-diary post/tour! I hope you guys found it interesting and fun to read.
See y'all in my next post!
