Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Gel Review

Hi guys! Today I'm sharing my review of Melano CC's Vitamin C Brightening Gel!

Melano CC (the popular Vitamin C skincare brand from Japan) is well known for their Vitamin C Brightening Essence which has been Japan's number 1 whitening essence for 4 consecutive years. They recently introduced the new Vitamin C Brightening Gel as the latest addition to their line of products, and today I'll be sharing my thoughts about it.

WHAT IS IT?

Melano CC's Vitamin C Brightening Gel is a moisturizer formulated with Vitamin C, Fruits extracts and Deep Penetration Technology to brighten dull skin, even out skin tone, fight dark spots, lighten pimple marks and minimize pores while keeping the skin hydrated – all for a radiantly brighter, youthful skin.

I love products that contain Vitamin C and E derivatives because they work so well at brightening my skin and helping it look revitalized. Aside from these key ingredients, this gel also contains Melano CC's Deep Penetration Technology which includes high-stability and high concentration properties that helps ensure full absorption of its

derivatives into the skin,

PACKAGING

The product comes packaged in box with English/translated descriptions, which I think is great!

The product itself comes in this cute yellow tub, which is pretty simple and straight to the point.

I would have preferred a spatula for hygienic scooping, but I guess I have enough spatulas that it's not really that big of a deal for me.

INGREDIENTS

After analyzing the ingredients, I found that they all had EWG green-level ingredients, meaning they're very unlikely to cause any irritation. This product is also sulfate-free, alcohol-free, EU allergen-free and has minimal ingredients.

Aside from the brightening and anti-ageing effects from the Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin) and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), this product also contains some key ingredients which I thought would be great to highlight:

Alpinia Seed Extract – A ginger extract that helps brighten and even out skin tone

Cornus Officinalis (Japanese Cornel) Fruit Extract – Deeply Hydrates and Soothes Skin

Lemon Extract – Helps hydrates skin for a significantly soft, smooth and supple skin

Citrus – Adds fragrance to the moisturizer

I think people with dry skin will really like this because of the powerfully moisturizing ingredients it has (like Butylene Glycol and Glycerin), and those with oily skin like me will really like the soothing and skin protection properties fo the Lemon Fruit Extracts.

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE

First, the scent of this gel-cream smells quite lemony. It borders a bit dishwasher-y from the tub, but on the skin, the scent dissipates and disappears. The gel is very lightweight and has a sort of bouncy feel to it, and it absorbs quickly without leaving behind a sticky or greasy residue. The finish actually feels smooth and slightly silky.

HOW TO USE

Cleanser - Toner - Essence - Serum - Moisturizer

Since this product is quite lightweight, you can use it in the daytime. Since it's quite moisturizing, you can use it at night as well but I recommend layering more products for more intensive care. Melano CC actually says you can use it on your body as well.

MY REVIEW AND VERDICT

I quite like this moisturizer! I love how I can use it for the day, and how nice the texture feels. If you're looking for something that can help even out your complexion and get rid of some of your dark spots, but you're new to Vitamin C, I would recommend this. The formula is quite gently, and though it's not the most potent Vitamin C product I've tried, it still works on my skin.

This product didn't cause any breakouts at all, and I love how it really helped to brighten some of my acne scars. I get quite a lot of marks on my moustache area as well, and this helped to not only lighten those, but to soothe the area as well.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

Definitely! Since the effects are quite nice and the price point is very affordable, I would definitely consider getting this product again.
