Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing about Louis Vuitton's Double Zip Pochette in Monogram Giant Reverse & Monogram Coated Canvas.
So a little back story! I was never a big fan of LV's monogram/canvas and I always thought that it had lost a bit of its prestige since it's seen e v e r y w h e r e now and there's a lot of fakes (especially the Neverfull and the Speedy bags). However, as the rule of life goes, the more you hate, the more you love. I recently got bitten by the LV bug, and although I'm still not a huge fan of all their canvas designs, and I cannot deny that the monogram print and the damier ebene have grown on me.
So as I researched on which LV item I should get, I of course was drawn to the Pochette Accessoires. Although the mini version is more affordable, I think the slightly bigger size of the Pochette Accessoires is more practical:
However, since the P.A is a super hot item, it's very rare that the LV stores have it in stock. When I visited the store in KLCC, they told me that around 1-2 people ask about it on a daily basis, and they rarely have it in.
The sales assistant that I got was very friendly though, and he recommended that I check out the Double Zip Pochette instead.
I'll show you guys more pics and vids of the item later, but one thing I wanna share is that it doesn't seem to be available on their website when you search for it. Only the other variations are visible, not the Giant Reverse:
Not really sure if they're hiding it or if it's just not in stock for online purchase. Anyhoo, because of the power of the internet and SEO, I managed to dig up the product page. Here are some HD pics:
Product description:
So basically, these are two pouches stuck to each other with a crossbody strap:
Detailed Features
- 20.0 x 12.5 x 3.0 cm (Length x Height x Width)
- Monogram Giant Reverse and Monogram coated canvas
- Microfiber lining
- Gold-color hardware
- Removable, adjustable leather strap (drop: min. 53cm/20.9 inches, max. 58cm/22.9 inches) for shoulder or cross-body carry
- 2 large zipped pockets
- Middle flat pocket
- Inside flat pocket with 3 card slots
So in one of the pouches there are card slots, and in between both pouches is a hidden pocket (where things can be placed, and phones as big as an iPhone 8 can fit).
What makes the Monogram Giant Reverse version different from the other Double Zip Pochettes is the removable + adjustable crossbody leather strap. The other Double Zip Pochettes only have crossbody chains which cannot be adjusted.
Because of the two pouches, I really like how you can get 2 looks out of it:
To be honest, the Pochette Accessoires I was looking for can only be carried as a shoulder bag, and although I have no problems with that, I do prefer to have the option to carry my bags crossbody.
So you might be thinking, isn't this bag the opposite? You can carry it crossbody but not shoulder? Well, after playing around with it in the store, I realized that by looping the thin leather strap like this:
You can actually create a shoulder bag as well!
I cannot, so basically the look I was looking for can be achieved with that bag, and with more wear options + space that the Pochette Accessoires!
Since the strap is detachable, you can use it as a pouch inside your bigger bags or as a clutch. Do note that if you do carry it as a pouch in Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia, people will think you're an ah beng hahahahaha
Here's what the black monogram empreinte leather version looks like:
Although the chain's length is perfect for me, it's won't be perfect for everybody.
In terms of size, the Pochette Accessoires is 23.5 x 13.5 x 4.0 cm while the Double Zip Pochette 20.0 x 12.5 x 3.0 cm. The P.A is slightly bigger, but I guess it's almost there.
I went back a few days later because I realized I didn't try if my daily things could fit in. Sad to say, my wallet is too thick. Anything thicker than 2cm will make the pouch bulge and deform it:
It really is so pretty though T.T
If you're curious about the price, the Double Zip Pochette in Monogram Giant Reverse & Monogram Coated Canvas currently retails for RM5150 here in Malaysia.
And that's it for this post! Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya next time!
