Hi guys! Today I'll be sharing my review of Belif's Original Sebum Control Water Lotion from the Manology line.
As you all probably already know, Belif is an apothecary skincare brand and they love using plant extracts + their own secret formulas in their ingredients.
The Manology line is a simple but powerful range created by Belif, and although skincare is for all, it can't hurt to use products that are specifically tailored to some issues that men face (like pores, shaved skin, etc).
The Manology line consists of 3 "sub" lines made to cater for all skin types:
Manology 101
For sensitive skin
1st skincare line for those in their 20s
Original Aqua Bouncing
For dry/mature skin
For maintenance for those in their 30s
For maintenance for those in their 30s
Original Sebum Control
For oily/acne skin
For maintenance for those in their 30s
I recently got the cleanser for all skin types, as well as the toner and moisturizer for oily skin:
In this post, I'll be sharing all about the toner!
WHAT IS IT
Belif's Manology Original Sebum Control Water Lotion is a refreshing toner that helps to reduce the appearance of shine without overdrying the skin. Formulated with Thyme and Baldeech anti-shine formula, it leaves the skin with a clean, matte and soother after-feel.

The Manology products come in Belif's signature grey box packaging:
Though I noticed that these ones have a few nice new details, like how there's a Manology logo for this range, and there's this chic imprint in tiny tiny text about the Manology line's philosophy haha.
Here's the front and the back:
Pretty easy to work with as it's in English.
The cap reminds me of how their signature "hat"-looking caps are, but these somehow look chicer haha. The plastic packaging is transparent so you can easily keep track of how much product you have left.
It came sealed when I first got it!

The ingredients are mostly EWG green-level ingredients with a few yellow ones, meaning they're unlikely to irritate the skin:
The yellows are mostly natural fragrances, and I've stated a lot of times before here on my blog that I don't mind fragrances that much. These ones are of natural original (not synthetic) and I found that they didn't break me out + smelled quite pleasant.
The key ingredients in this cleanser are English Thyme (which is used as an astringent with an anti-inflammation & calming effect) & Betaine (which hydrates the skin).
I think people with dry skin will enjoy this because of the powerfully moisturizing ingredients like Glycerin, and those with sensitive skin will feel really soothed because of the Chamomile, Aloe and Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil.
This cleanser also contains new formulas that Belif created for the Manology line, This cleanser, in particular, contains 2:
Baldeech Original Formula
Provides soothing and moisturizing care for healthier skin
Baldeech Anti-Shine Formula

FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
This toner is very watery and is clear in colour. It has a slightly citrusy scent and I loveeeee it omg. You don't understand, the scent of this literally makes me so happy haha.
It's not sticky at all and it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin.
HOW TO USE
I use this as the second step of my skincare routine after cleansing.
Sometimes I also soak a few cotton pads and put them on my cheeks as mini masks for spot treatment.
MY REVIEW & VERDICT
A water-based type toner, I really like the freshness of this toner. It really absorbs quickly into the skin, and although the fragrance is very apparent, I really like the scent. It has no alcohol so it has so far not irritated me or caused any negative effects. In fact, I feel like it actually helps to soothe my cheeks and some small breakout areas that I had.
It says that it promises to help to reduce the appearance of shine without overdrying the skin. I do feel that it doesn't dry out my skin and that my shine throughout the day seems less. When paired with the moisturizer from this range, I only secrete very little shine, enough for a natural dewy look. At the start of the day I really am quite matte, but the surprising thing is that I don't feel dry.
This toner also claims to be an astringent with an anti-inflammation & calming effect, and I do feel that it it great at calming my skin, I had a tiny breakout spot on my left cheek, and after using this (both as a toner and mini mask) + the moisturizer, I did see results.
If I were to criticise it, I guess I have to say that it's not overly hydrating on its own. I'm so used to deep hydration at night that using this alone without adding some serums on top of it seems a bit lacking. Doing 7 skin method and layering it 7 times definitely feels better, but on its own, I think it's better to add a serum at night. During the day though, it's great because it's so lightweight and fresh.
WILL I REPURCHASE
I definitely wouldn't mind repurchasing this again, even thought the price tag is quite steep. To be honest, I think what makes this toner stand out is its super clean ingredients and the specially formulated formulas made to specifically tackle the problems that those with oily skin experience. I would say that if your budget allows, definitely give this a go!
