Jo Malone 2020 Malaysia Perfume Price Guide

Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Jo Malone's latest prices for their colognes! (Last updated: February 2020).

Jo Malone's colognes are super popular, but I realized that you cannot find a comprehensive list of their prices here in Malaysia online. Jo Malone's official website has no prices at all, and not all fragrances are available on Sephora's website. So I decided to drop by the store to inquire about their latest prices to share with you guys!

First of all, what are Jo Malone's fragrances? The transparent bottles that they're known for are actually colognes (not perfumes), and colognes have a lower concentration of fragrance compared to Parfum, Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette.

Eau de Cologne generally has a 2% to 4% concentration of fragrance and a high concentration of alcohol. It's supposed to be cheaper than other types of fragrance, but as you'll find out below, that's not the case with Jo Malone. Their prices easily match the EDPs of fashion houses like Dior and YSL, and I would actually consider Jo Malone slightly overpriced.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jo Malone's scents and I have a few 100ml bottles. However, I feel that they're overall quite expensive and don't last as long as my EDPs. Jo Malone's colognes are pretty fresh, but do keep in mind that they's pretty light and rarely last a full day (at least in my case).

Eau de Colognes generally comes in bigger bottles as more of the fragrance needs to be used. After testing this out on my own, I find it to be true for Jo Malone. You have to spritz on a lot if you want it to be more potent/smell-able.

I also have a bottle of their Cologne Intense, which is a more potent/concentrated cologne. I find that their Cologne Intense last way longer and is more potent, but that the selection is not as light/fruity as their best-selling colognes. It's richer and more for night/formal use in my opinion.

Jo Malone also has 2 Absolu fragrances. Used in perfumery and aromatherapy, absolutes are similar to essential oils. They are concentrated, highly aromatic, oily mixtures extracted from plants. I don't have any of their Absolu (as it's ridiculously expensive), but I do have an absolu from Versace, and just a bit is really concentrated and lasts me the whole day.
