Hi guys! In today's post, I'll be sharing all about my new ear piercings + my piercing experience at Lovisa!
So for the longest time I've been using clip-on earrings. I didn't really have anything against piercings, just that I never felt that the time was right lol. My friend Syahira previously did hers at Lovisa and since she had a good experience, I decided to try it out as well.
Just a little note, I'm in no way an expert and am just sharing my experience. You can definitely get your ears pierced at any other shop for cheaper. I only decided on Lovisa as it was the nearest to my office + I felt comfortable with their procedure.

So basically, Lovisa offers free ear piercings with a purchase of a Studex piercing stud. You can choose where the piercing is + will also get a free aftercare solution as well.
On their website it says that the Lovisa Piercing Station is a clean and sterile environment, with a strict sanitization procedure that is performed every day as well as before & after every piercing is performed.
The one in NU Sentral wasn't super big/as big as the picture on their site, and was more of a corner. There's a seat for you to seat on + a big handheld mirror to look at yourself.
On the station there's a hand sanitizer + wet wipes for hygiene purposes:
The studs they offer are pretty basic, and I think that's best as you don't really want to be stuck with an overly-flashy stud on your ears while you heal.
The offer both gold-plated and stainless teel options, and earrings are either RM90 (Cubic Zirconia/Crystals) or RM60 (studs/fashion). As I mentioned, the piercing is free, so by purchasing a pair of earrings from this selection, you can get your ears pierced with no charge.
Lovisa uses the STUDEX® System 75 piercing system, and STUDEX® is actually the global leaders in piercing. With over 4 decades of experience, the name STUDEX® is synonymous with trust and safety in piercing around the world.
All STUDEX® ear piercing studs are hypo-allergenic and made in the U.S.A. using surgical grade stainless steel and 24-carat gold plate. The studs are individually packaged, pre-sterilised and sealed in a single-use cartridge, which is disposed of after each piercing, so it means there are no guns, needles or reused parts.
After selecting my earring (a simple ball stud), the Lovisa staff proceeded to mark out where the piercings would be on my ears:
Once I was okay with the placement, she went ahead with the piercing! Like I mentioned above, each stud is inside the gun itself, so its super sterile + hygienic. It wasn't painful at all and at most was like a pinch.
Immediately after the piercing, she told me that it would be natural for the studs to jut out a bit. It's ok, as it gives the ear some space to heal.
She gave me this aftercare card, as well as a bottle of salt/aftercare solution:
There was no pain at all, and I event slept comfortably in them. This is what they looked like the next day:
Notice how the ink from the markings are still there? The faded after around 3 days~
It was pretty natural after that, and I had no discomfort whatsoever. I sprayed my ears with the solution twice a day for the first week, but when I realized that it didn't really hurt, I reduced it to once every other day. The solution also helps to clean the wound, so I guess if you're someone who wants it to heal faster you can keep on cleaning it/spraying it.
The Lovisa staff recommended keeping it on for 6-8 weeks before taking it off. As I'm typing this it has been 5 weeks. I'm currently shopping for earrings, and I can't wait to serve some lewks with them ^^
And that's it for this post! Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya next time!
