Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about my latest gel manicure which I did in J&Y Nail Beauty, Berjaya Times Square.
My friend Caryn told me about this nail salon during our Vietnam trip back in August. She said she saw it on her Facebook page and wanted to try it out together since their designs looked quite pretty. We were supposed to go together but since she recently cut her nails & wanted to wait for them to grow out first, so I ended up trying their services by myself hahaha.

The shop itself is located on the 5th floor so it's not that hectic and is quite far from where people usually shop. I didn't know how much they charge prior to dropping by their shop, but upon arrival, I saw that they were doing a promo price of RM68 for gel manicure.
According to the staff, they've been open for around 2 years now. The shop interior was quite simple and basic, with 2 nail stations and 3 foot stations.
I decided to go for the gel manicure, and they presented me with designs that I could try out. Do note that the promo price of RM68 is only for a plain colour gel manicure. If you want a design, there is a separate design fee.
The designs were really as good as the pics on their IG and the styles were quite varied. Here's some close-ups:
I quite liked this design with real petals and decided to go with it but change the colours & add a golden wire.
The whole process took 3 hours, but I didn't mind it that much. The nail tech was very detailed and professional. She made nice conversation too when I asked her about the restaurants available in Times Square.
In the end my total bill came up to RM140. RM68 for the gel mani, RM2 to remove the leftover gel mani on my 2 fingers, RM65 for the design and RM5 for nail/cuticle care. I didn't have cash on me but it wasn't a problem because they accepted bank transfer as well.
With the design included it's not the cheapest manicure out there, but it's not the most expensive too. I think it's so-so and for the quality/service, I didn't mind it. Here's what it looked like immediately after the session:
Here are some more HD pics taken a few days later!
They ended up quite similar to the style I previously did (lol) but I love it! The only thing is because I insisted on using gold wire, it pops up a bit/isn't totally flat. The nail tech did tell me about it and I still insisted, so that's on me haha. I don't mind it that much tho and I think the gold/red/maroon makes a lovely combo for fall.
It's been almost 2 weeks now since I had them done and they're still holding up pretty well. They have not cracked/peeled and are still super glossy/shiny.
A lot of people have been complimenting them and I personally really love how they look!
Would I come back to J&Y Nail Beauty? Definitely! I think they did a great job with my nails and I wouldn't mind dropping by their shop again next time. If you're looking for a nice place to do your nails, I recommend trying them out!
And that's it for this post! I hope y'all found it helpful & informative.
See y'all in my next post!
