Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about my latest lipstick haul from Stylekorean featuring 3CE's Slim Velvet Lip Color + Plumping Lips!
If you guys follow my blog/SNS, you'll know I'm a big fan of 3CE. I really like their packaging/brand, and I find their products to be high quality as well. A few weeks back I decided to pick up some new lippies to add to my collection, and I'll be sharing all about them with you guys today.
First off, 3CE's Plumping Lips are high-shine lip plumpers that have a jelly texture. They aim to nourish and moisturize the lips, making them plump and voluptuous.
Available in 5 shades, I chose the red shade because I love all things red. I actually came across this product in their duty free counter in Bangkok. I remember thinking "Wow these are so shiny!", so I decided to get one on Stylekorean to try out.
3CE's Slim Velvet Lip Color, on the other hand, is a lipstick with a soft matte formula that blends flawlessly on your lips, delivering a weightless, comfy and long-lasting layer of colour.
They have an extensive range of MLBB shades to choose from, and they frequently expand it with limited edition collections. Stylekorean currently carries the permanent colours, and tbh I wanted to get all of them because they all look so pretty!
After seeing the lip swatches, I decided to go with Kalanchoe. I rarely choose pink MLBB shades and go for reds/browns, so this time around I wanted to switch it up a bit.
WHERE TO BUY
I got both lippies from Stylekorean. If you aren't already familiar with them, Stylekorean is a K-beauty shopping website that offers international shipping, 100% authentic products, free samples and a return/refund policy. Stylekorean constantly curates new products on their website and they offer lots of trendy K-beauty products!
The Plumping Lips retail on Stylekorean for USD14.30:
While the Slim Velvet Lip Colors retail for USD19.69:
PACKAGING
Similar to all their other products, these two came in minimalist/simple boxes. I believe all the Slim Velvet Lip Colors come in a black box/packaging, while the Plumping Lips reflect the shade.
Behind the boxes there are seals to prove their authenticity:
The lippies come sealed:
And have the shade info below the component:
The Slim Velvet Lip Color comes with 3.2g of product while the Plumping Lips contains 2.8g, For reference, a normal MAC lipstick only has 3g of product and a Nivea lip balm has 4.8g.
Both lippies come in a bullet form and can be twisted to release more product, but one thing to keep in mind is that you can retract the Slim Velvet Lip Colors but not the Plumping Lips.
SWATCHES
Plumping Lips in Red is a true glossy red. The product itself is really jelly-like and soft, and the pigmentation is there. I've tried a few tinted balms before and they were never quite this pigmented, and I've tried a few liquid glosses as well that were as shiny as this but required more product. With just a few swipes you can get high gloss + high shine, and I love it.
Slim Velvet Lip Color in Kalanchoe is described as an alluring rose colour with hints of petal pink. It's looking a bit red in the picture but in real life, it does pull pink on me. Although it's a matte lipstick, it's very creamy and spreads very easily (making ombre/gradient lips super easy). The pigmentation on this is legit, and you don't need a lot to cover your entire lips.
Here's what the lippies look like on my lips:
By itself, Red is pretty nice and shiny but I would not recommend you to use it without makeup hahahaha. The pigment is there but since this is a red shade, it looks a bit unnatural on a bare face. It looks fabulous by itself + on top of a lip when you have a full face of makeup on, and I think this is one of the wettest/glossiest glosses I currently have in my collection.
Kalanchoe on my lips was a dream. From the moment I put her on my lips, I was in love! As an ombre, she buffs out so prettily, with an airbrushed finish. I've always struggled to do ombre lips and the creamy formula makes it super easy for me to achieve it with just my fingers. I also really like how the formula isn't drying at all and is super lightweight on the lips.
In terms of plumping, the Plumping Lips did feel menthol-y/cooling on the lips but I didn't feel like my lips were plumped significantly. Although they did look nice and voluptuous, it didn't make them any bigger than they originally were.
Another thing I'd like to point out about this product is the packaging. I don't mind that it's non-retractable because it actually dispenses very little product when you turn it (even a lot). For the sake of keeping the jelly form intact, I don't mind it. What I don't like is how unprecise application is when you do it straight from the bullet. Even 3CE's official website suggests using it with a lip brush. Not really a big deal, but compared to my other glosses that come with a doe foot brush, it's just a step extra that makes me reach out for it less.
I think overall this is a nice product that hydrates your lips like a lip balm and gives it a high-shine finish like a gloss. I will still continue to use it because I like the effect, and I'll consider getting the clear one next time.
As for the Slim Velvet Lip Color, I really love it. If you can only get one lip product from 3CE, I would recommend getting one of these. Out of the many 3CE lip products I've tried, I think this has been my most fave. Its super lightweight + is super pigmented, and I love love love the blendability. Its not transfer proof and is not the most long lasting lipstick I have in my makeup collection, but solely because of the texture + colour payoff, I would recommend it. If you're someone looking for a lipstick that will last you the whole day, this isn't it. However, if you're a lipstick collector looking for a versatile, comfy matte lipstick that can be used on a daily basis, I would recommend this!
The colour (although looks natural on me) can pull a bit bright in some lightings, so I think I'll grab a few more shades to try out. I currently have my eye on Fluffy Red, Snow Glass and Go Get It
And that's it for this post! If you guys would like to get these lippies for yourself, you can head over to Stylekorean's website to get it.
