Hi guys, today I'll be sharing all about Purito's Centella Green Level Calming Toner.
Last year I did a post about my Purito discoveries, and I'm glad to say that they stood the test of time! 😍 I've repurchased their products + their Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence is still my current fave essence.
Purito stands for Purify + 土 (tu/soil), and it means to find the pure and safe wonders of nature found in our soil. They understand that Korean cosmetics are all the rage, but instead of relying on hype, they want to focus on ingredients that will benefit the skin. They focus on natura ingredients as well as having only EWG Green Level ingredients in their products.
Purito recently sent over 3 new items for me to try out, so this time around I'll be sharing my in-depth review about them with you guys.
The products that I received were the:
Centella Green Level Calming Toner
Centella Green Level Eye Cream
Centella Green Level Recovery Cream
All 3 products are from Purito's Centella Green Level Line, which means all of their ingredients are EWG green level/very unlikely to irritate the skin 💚.
Just a disclosure, although the products were sent to me as PR, I'll still be sharing my honest thoughts and experience with the products.
Without any further ado, let's get on with the review!
WHAT IS IT
Containing only EWG green level ingredients, the Centella Green Level Calming Toner uses Centella Asiatica & Witch Hazel extract to smoothen, hydrate, soothe and relieve damaged skin. It's very gentle and can be used even on sensitive skin. Instead of artificial fragrances, it uses the fragrance of natural herbs & flowers.
WHERE TO BUY
If you're in Korea, you can buy the full size 200ml bottle on Purito's official website for USD23.20, but you can also get it internationally on Althea for RM60 (You can take advantage of Althea's Purito Brand Day with the code PURITO20 to get an extra 20& OFF!). You can also get it internationally on Ebay by clicking here.
PACKAGING
The packaging is exactly similar to the Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence, but instead of being brown, it's green in colour.
I think it's simple & to the point. It comes in a brown box made from recycled materials:
I forgot to take a pic, but the nozzle came sealed when I first got this product.
INGREDIENTS
This product is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, EU allergen-free & fungal acne safe. As they claimed, the product only contains EWG green-level ingredients, which means that they will be very unlikely to irritate the skin:
I initially thought that the ingredients for this and the toner pads which I previously reviewed were the same (just in bottle form), but they're actually different. It has fewer ingredients than the toner pad but it contains better ingredients for healing the skin.
Some ingredients that are great at healing the skin which isn't in the toner pad are Portulaca Oleracea Extract + Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, as well as the fruit and flower oils for fragrance. This toner also contains rose as astringent!
Aside from that, this toner also contains ingredients to promote wound healing (Panthenol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate), hydrate the skin (Panthenol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin) and ingredients that are good for oily skin (Allantoin).
FRAGRANCE & TEXTURE
The texture of this toner isn't totally thin and water-like (its slightly viscous) but it's not too thick too. It absorbs quickly into the skin and is pretty cooling/calming. It's transparent in colour and isn't sticky once it's absorbed into the skin. It has a slight leafy smell that doesn't stay for very long.
HOW TO USE
As with all toners, I use this after cleansing with a cotton pad. I also sometimes pat it into my skin.
Cleanser - Toner - Eye Cream - Serum - Moisturizer
According to Purito, people with dry skin can layer it on 3 times and seal it with the Centella Green Level Recovery Cream for that glass skin effect as well.
MY REVIEW & VERDICT
I think what sets this toner apart from other acne/soothing toners out there is its clean list of ingredients + the key ingredients that really help my troubled skin. I didn't think it was anything revolutionary or anything life changing to my skin, but I did like how it did what it said it would. It calmed my small pimples and prevented them from getting worse, and it also hydrated my skin quite well. It didn't break me out, and I think my skin didn't react negatively at all to this.
I think this toner would be suitable for someone looking for a daily toner that helps to soothe irritation and to keep acne at bay. The high percentage of Centella Asiatica is something that people with oily/acne skin like me would enjoy. It's pretty multi-functional and I don't really have anything bad to say about it. The price is very affordable and the size is pretty big, and I estimate that one bottle will last me 2-3 months if I use it frequently (which I do).
WILL I REPURCHASE
I definitely would! It's a good choice for a toner + doesn't break the bank. I would definitely get this again, and I recommend you guys to give it a go as well. Take advantage of Althea's sale and get it for cheaper!!
