Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be sharing my Purito haul as well as my review of Purito's Centella Green Level All in One Mild Pad.
So in December last year, a website called eopenmarket.com got in touch with me and asked if I would be interested in giving an honest review of some products from a Korean skincare brand called Purito. At this point I had never heard of Purito before, so I decided to accept their offer.
Purito stands for Purify + 土 (tu/soil), and it means to find the pure and safe wonders of nature found in our soil. They understand that Korean cosmetics are all the rage, but instead of relying on hype, they want to focus on ingredients that will benefit the skin. They focus on natura ingredients as well as having only EWG Green Level ingredients in their products.
Just a disclaimer, I know that a lot of skincare bloggers were contacted by the same company as well with the same offer, and you might have noticed a few of your faves sharing about them on Instagram as well as their blogs. I was not paid to give a good review, and although the products were given to me via PR, my thoughts on them will still be my honest ones as usual.
Anyhoo, eopenmarket was very generous with the products and gave me a total of 7 products to try out. It was quite a lot of products to be honest, so I really took my time to try each of them out. It's now March (almost April omg where has time gone) and I'm ready to share my reviews of the products with you guys! I'll be posting about the products separately, and you can check out all my Purito reviews by clicking here.
Without further ado, let's start with my first review!
WHAT IS IT?
This product is a toner pad, and it's supposed to help strengthen your skin barrier, remove sebum & dead skin cells, clean makeup residue, and calm + moisturize your skin. Over the past few months I've been reaching for toner pads more and more, just because I find them more convenient. They're already soaked in product + they usually have embossed sides to help gently exfoliate the skin.
These Purito pads are filled with 10% rich Centella Asiatica extracts (one of my fave ingredients), and one thing that they boast about is that they do not make the water of Centella Asiatica the most prominent percentage. For more effective cica care, Purito included Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid & Madecassic Acid, which are the core components titrated from the extract of Centella Asiatica.
WHERE TO BUY?
Originally USD22.95, this product is available on eopenmarket.com for only USD14.23 (RM55.71), and it comes with 130ml of product & 70 pads.
Compared to toner pads from Nightingale and Natural Pacific, the price is similar but slightly cheaper. Its definitely way cheaper than the Whamisa ones I got, and overall I think they're quite a good buy. If you use 2 pads a day (one for morning & night), you'll be able to use them for a little over a month.
PACKAGING
The product comes in a brown "nature"-esque box, and to be honest it kinda reminded me of Benton's packaging. What's special is that there's some info & drawings inside the box.
Aside from that, the toner pads are like any other: a sealed plastic tub. They also come with a plastic tong for hygiene purposes which I think is nice.
INGREDIENTS
The reason why this product is called "Centella Green Level All in One Mild Pad" is because aside from having Centella Asiatica extracts, all the ingredients in this toner pad have a EWG green level rating, meaning they're supposed to have low risk and not irritate the skin.
After screening the ingredients on Skincarisma.com, I found that these toner pads are acne-fighting (Licorice root extract, Betaine Salicylate & Tea Tree Leaf Oil), brightening (Licorice Root Extract) & promote wound healing (Panthenol & Centella Asiatica Extract).
There are 4 core ingredients in this product, which are:
1. Asiatic acid - strengthens skin barrier & calms it
2. Asiaticoside - helps with collagen formation
3. Madecassic Acid - repairs damaged skin & reduces marks
4. Centella Asiatica Extract - anti-inflammatory, calms skin, improves skin texture
TEXTURE + HOW TO USE
I made a video showing how I use these Purito products for my morning and night skincare routine, and you can watch it here:
There are 2 sides to this pad, an embossed side and a soft side. The embossed side is great for exfoliating, removing makeup residue + removing sebum & oil, while the soft one is great for calming the skin when it's breaking out + moisturizing the skin. After using it, the finish isn't thick or sticky, and I find them refreshing and slightly cooling.
After cleansing, I usually start with the embossed side and wipe it all over my face in an upward motion. I then use the soft side to finish. One thing I like about these pads is that they're sturdy enough to not lose their shape but gentle enough to be soft on the skin.
MY REVIEW + VERDICT
I really like these pads! I think they're pretty moisturizing & calming to the skin + they're really light and non-sticky. I think these pads also do an amazing job of cleansing + toning + dead skin removal. No matter how clean I think I cleanse my face, it will always be able to gently remove any leftover dead skin on my face.
For the cica care & skin strengthening, I think it does a fairly good job as well. When I have random breakouts, it doesn't irritate them and helps them fade faster. After using it I also feel like a thin film is put in place, and although it's not to the level of moisturization of a cream, I feel like it gives ample hydration as well (I can feel it especially when I do my skincare routine in an aircon room lol. My dry cheeks' thirst is immediately quenched!).
WILL I REPURCHASE?
I think these pads are a great product and I wouldn't mind getting some again. I already like them better than my Natural Pacific ones, and I slightly prefer it more than my Nightingale ones for daytime use. I think once my toners finish, I would definitely consider getting another tub of these pads.
And that was it for this review! As I mentioned, I reviewed a lot of Purito products recently, and you can check the others out by clicking here. Remember to like the video I made as well & subscribe to my channel for more demos & skincare routine videos!
