Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner (Deep Rich) Review

December 7, 2017

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today's post will be all about Whamisa's Organic Flowers Toner in Deep Rich.

I've always viewed Whamisa as a "premium" organic brand, simply because of their packaging, pricing, marketing and ingredients. According to their website, Whamisa's specialty is their naturally fermented organic flowers, fruits and seeds. Their products contain 95% (or higher) natural ingredients and they actually have a patented extraction method.

I've had my eye on some items from Whamisa but I only ever got my first ever Whamisa product from Stylekorean a month ago! They sent me a bottle as part of an ongoing campaign (which hasn't been released yet, so stay tuned 😉). They didn't require a review but since I really liked the product I'll be sharing about it here on my blog anyway. As always, 100% honest thoughts!

WHAT IS IT

This toner is actually available in three versions: Original (yellow), Refresh (blue) and Deep Rich (pink). All of them claim to exfoliate dead skin as well as calm & soothe stressed skin. The difference is that the Rich version has organic argania spinosa kernel oil for full and deeper hydration, while the Refresh version is more suited for sensitive skin. All of them do not use purified water but instead use botanic extracts!

I did some research and found that among all 3, the Deep Rich one is actually the most popular. Its said to not only exfoliate and hydrate, but makes the skin cool, soft and supple too.

With 97.4% organic ingredients, this product is free from parabens, preservatives, artificial dyes, fragrances, silicon, mineral oils and animal origin ingredients. The only "official" claim that it says on the packaging is that it offers deep and long lasting moisturization.

WHERE TO BUY

As I mentioned, Stylekorean sent me the product, and it is available on Stylekorean's site for USD41.92 (~RM171). Most of Whamisa's products are around this price range, thus my first impression of it being a luxury brand haha.

PACKAGING

There's 120ml worth of product and if you get it, it'll come in a box that looks like this:

The bottle itself is frosted glass and the nozzle comes sealed. I really like the packaging because it looks very luxe but my first impression of it was that it looked kinda small.

If you're travelling, I definitely do not recommend bringing this along. Either decanter it into a smaller plastic bottle or bring a non-breakable toner with you haha.

INGREDIENTS

As I mentioned, This product has Organic Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil which is also known as argan oil (which is great at hydrating and softening the skin). It also has a high amount of vitamin E and fatty acid content, making products with argan oil ideal for giving the skin a natural boost.

TEXTURE AND FRAGRANCE

As an essence-toner, this product has a texture similar to that of a thin serum.

I feel like it's in between the texture of Pyunkang Yul's Essence Toner + Klairs' Supple Preparation Facial Toner. Slightly thicker that Klairs (not too watery) and almost identical to PKY but PKY is slightly thicker.

It spreads easily and absorbs really quickly into the skin. It smells faintly like those dissolvable/chewable vitamin C capsules but upon application the scent fades. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin but it does feels slightly sticky.

HOW TO USE

According to Whamisa, you should use it after cleansing, followed by lotion, cream and essence.

I personally use this product in 3 different ways:
1. Toner (after cleansing, soak a cotton pad with the product. You only need a bit for your whole face!)
2. Essence (After toner, I pat in 3-4 drops of the product into my face)
3. DIY Mask (after serum, I soak a cotton pad and leave it on my cheeks)

You can of course substitute it on your 10 step skincare routine, but having less products can be good too, so you can use this as a toner, essence or diy mask in one go if you'd like.

MY REVIEW & VERDICT

I totally love this product! I used it as a toner for 1 week and felt that it was very hydrating and plumping. The plumping effect, however, is even more noticeable when used as an essence! I added 3-4 drops of this in my morning and night routines the following week and immediately noticed that my skin felt super soft and supple!

The hydrating properties that it claims to have is totally legit. I'm still in the process of getting myself a skin hydration detector (Wayskin please sponsor me T.T) so I can't give you guys accurate readings. It really did hydrate my skin and I didn't feel any dryness or uncomfortable feelings thorughout my day. Also, as someone with extremely oily skin, I didn't feel uncomfortable and I didn't break out at all.

It does feel cooling on the skin (like how a sheet mask usually is), but the cooling sensation doesn't last for a long time in the morning. At night I guess it feels nicer/cooler because of my air conditioning, but I don't think it's superbly great at decreasing skin temperature.

WILL I REPURCHASE?

For the price...I think its a good product but definitely a splurge. If I felt fancy and wanted to treat myself, I would probably repurchase it, but on normal days I probably wouldn't purchase it. Its great and its really hydrating/moisturizing, but there are other more affordable toners that I can settle with. If you have older skin I think you would really like this, but if you're like me (age 17 ahem ahem) I suggest spending your money on something else instead 😉

And that was it for my review of Whamisa's Organic Flowers Toner in Deep Rich! I hope you guys found it interesting and informative. As always, thanks for reading and see y'all in the next post!
