Hi guys, welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be posting my review of B&Soap's Coloring Paint Pack!
If you guys follow Althea on Instagram or Youtube, you'll know that I tried this mask out a few weeks ago with Sydney:
We did a first impressions kind of video and the result turned our pretty funny! Remember to watch it and leave a comment yeah hahaha.
Now I shall be channeling professional blogger Eros and do a more "pro" review of these masks *ahem ahem*
The paint pack comes in a big box and contains a plastic palette, 5 paint pack mask and 1 mask brush with synthetic bristles for application.
If you guys are avid K-beauty fans, you'll probably think that they resemble Innisfree's recently launched color clay masks:
They're quite similar but the difference is that these masks from B&Soap are not clay but pack. Also, you don't have to buy them individually like the Innisfree masks! Since they come in one set, they're very cost friendly and Instagram-friendly if you wanna create some looks (we'll talk more about that later).
Another difference of the Innisfree color clay masks and these B&Soap ones is that these claim to not dry your skin at all! They do not have to dry down like clay masks, and you're actually encouraged to wipe it off 10 minutes after application even if it doesn't harden/dry down.
The B&Soap Coloring Paint Pack originally costs RM119 but it's available on Althea for only RM63 (click here to check it out on their site)
Each of the paint packs has a different function to target different skin concerns, and each one contains different ingredients as well.
RED
Functions: Skin Rejuvenation, Firming, Vitamin bomb
Ingredients: Goji berry extract to soothe skin irritation and rose hip oil which has an abundance of Vitamin C for a brighter complexion!
YELLOW
Functions: Rich nourishment, Skin revitalization & Vitamin C
Ingredients: Chia seed extracts, oats extract, herbal complex extract, propolis, witch hazel extract (good for acne) and aloe vera leaf extract which s good for soothing acne skin.
GREEN
Functions: Skin soothing, Alleviate skin stress, Moisture balance
Ingredients: Centella Asiatica (mentioned in my Dr. Belmeur range, good foracne), aloe vera leaf extract and seaweed complex
BLACK
Functions: Pore Purification, Absorbs impurities, Removes sebum
Ingredients: Charcoal to absorb impurities, cacao seed powder to smoothen the skin & brown algae to tighten and firm skin
WHITE
Functions: Hydration Skin smoothening Protective layer
Ingredtiens: Hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture, soybean filtrate for skin firming and saccharomyces extract for pore tightening and re-energizing.
How to use?
According to B&Soap, you're supposed to choose the right colour for the specific skin problem you wanna target, squeeze it into the palette and apply to your face with the brush (wiping it off after 10 minutes).
This mask is really fun to use because you can paint on designs on your face! I've seen a lot of reviews on other blogs and everyone was so creative in their pics! I suggest using all the colors on your face according to your skin concern, but if you're just routinely doing a mask and wanna have fun, go cray and do intricate designs! You can also mix the colours to create more shades.
Texture and Scent
The masks don't have a heavy smell and have a very clean (almost undetectable) subtle scent. The consistency is very easy to spread, and after 10 minutes, although it doesn't harden, it becomes "stuck" to your skin and needs some water and rubbing to be fully washed off.
The black and white packs are quite opaque and the red, yellow and green packs are slightly more jelly-like and translucent.
My Review
After using this pack, I feel like my skin was very moisturized and quite plump and smooth. Not dried out at all! Although each mask claims to be able to do spot treatment on each skin concern, I didn't really see a large impact on my skin when I used all of the colors together.
When I used the colors individually, I found that they were all hydrating, moisturizing and slightly brightening. I felt plump after using all of them, but as for the concerns like sebum removal and pore purification...it was more subtle. My skin did feel and look great, but it was not a one stop solution as I still had to use my other usual products to fully stay matte or shrink myalready almost non-existent pores.
Verdict
Did I like this product? 100% Yes! Although it was not a 1-stop-fix, it did deliver a lot of benefits to my skin like hydration, plumping, smoothening, brightening and making it look better overall. Each "full face" of mask can take up almost half of a paint tube (depending on how much you use + if you don't mix colors), so for RM63 you're getting around 10 mask "sessions", making it around RM6 per session which is around the price of a normal sheet mask or even cheaper!
The Instagrammability and fun factor of this product also makes me a fan of it. Definitelt recommended!
Will I repurchase?
Personally for my skincare needs, I don't think so. I still have a lot of product left and I think I'll save this mask for when I'm with my friends during a sleepover or something. On a regular basis though, I wouldn't ritually keep on repurchasing this. I do however encourage you guys to buy it and try it at least once by yourself or even better with your friends! It's definitely super fun to use and not bad in terms of effects as well.
And that's all for this post! As always, thank you guys so much for reading 😘
