Veet Sensitive Touch Electric Trimmer Review

April 12, 2017

Hi guys, today's post will be all about my review of Veet's Sensitive Touch Electric Trimmer!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I attended the launch of this product back in February. There was a demonstration on how to use the product as well as a talk by Amber Chia, and you can read all about it by clicking here.

Anyways, each of the bloggers invited received the Sensitive Touch Electric Trimmer to review for themselves, and that's exactly what I'm doing today.

Now before I start, just a little disclaimer, although this product was sponsored, I promise this will be a fair and unbiased review. I'm not a product whore interested in collecting tons of free products and posting misleading reviews online. Everything has its pros and cons, and I promise to talk about both in this post.

Without any further ado, let's get started!

First up, this product is an electric trimmer (as you all must know by now haha), and it's designed to trim and remove body hair from the eyebrows as well as other sensitive body parts.

I don't really manage my bikini line because I don't wear bikinis (lol) and I actually have very little underarm hair. I do however place a very high importance on the shape of my brows. My brows are originally thick and very arched. Paired with my resting bitch face, it made me look constantly angry.

Over the years, I've managed to fix this by plucking and reshaping my brows. I now sport a straight Korean brow which I think nicely frames my face. I think that brows are essential to anyone's look because they set the tone and impression people first make when they see you. If you have a monobrow or an angry set of brows, you're bound to make a few heads turn (and not in the good way).

I've managed to get used to plucking my brow hairs with my tweezers, but sometimes it is still painful. Also, my entire brow area is quite hairy. It has a lot of peach fuzz/little hairs that grow all around. I'll usually start by plucking them but I'll indefinitely end up using my razor to shave around my eyes (which is totally not safe I know).

The product comes tightly sealed which I really like because it means there's no tampering and its 100% mine! I tend to be touchy about razors and other things touching my face, so that's definitely a good sign!

This product is supposed to help with bikini lines, eye brows and underarms with precise trimming which existing tools like razors and tweezers cannot fully provide. About the size of an electronic toothbrush, the Sensitive Touch Electric Trimmer has two interchangeable heads:

The small head (for eyebrows) has a 16mm and 6mm razor, and the bigger head (for everywhere else) has a 20mm head.

Each of the heads come with a comb:

The small head has a 2mm/4mm comb and the big head has a comb attachment (which doesn't have an official measurement)

It also comes with a styling cap for the small head while storage:

And a small brush for brushing the shaved hair off the heads + a pouch for easy and mobile storage!

Finally, it comes with a double A battery so in total, you get 1 body, 2 heads, 4 accessories + 1 battery.

This product really intrigued me because according to the description, it's designed to never touch your skin (only your hair). I put this to the test and even put my finger on the blade: no cuts!

This razor should only be used on dry skin, and can be washed as well. All you gotta do is disconnect the head from the body and wash it with the razors facing up (so the water doesn't go inside).

To achieve straight Korean brows, I gotta draw it on straight and fill in the bald spot at the front part of my brows. Here's a pic of how I usually do my brows.

Unfortunately I have very slow growing hair, so when I tried this on myself the results weren't really very visible. However, I have two other expereinces with this: one is using it on my brother and another is using it on my friend Sydney. Sydney and I use makeup and my brother doesn't, so in this post you'll be able to see two eyebrow looks 👌

First up, my brother Euri. He already has nice thick brows and all he wanted to do was to groom them.

Taking inspiration from strong and slightly angular straight brows that Korean actors wear, I got to work!

As you can see, the result look much more prominent on my brother! He now has clean natural brows.

Aside from shaping, I also made his brows thinner using the combs provided.

Here's another before and after photo:

Before there were random hairs growing around his brows and his brows were thicker at the start and thinner at the end. Now they're perfectly shaped and have an even thickness!

I lent the razor to my work colleague Sydney in the office as she also wanted to try it out. As recommended by Stevensunny (who did a demo at the Veet event I attended), we shaved her brows after drawing on her eyebrows. This way, she don't shave off any excess.

It was quick, easy and clean! As you can see, her top brow is now clean, her arch now smooth and bottom brow neater:

If you compare plucking and shaving/using a razor, there are both pros and cons. Using a tweezer may be painful and tiresome because you have to do it hair by hair, but it gets rid of the entire brow hair from the root, thus taking it a longer time to grow back. Using a razor is painless and fast, but the brow hairs grow back so much faster.

Overall I really like this product! It's faster than plucking and although it does grow faster, shaving it back is fast too, so I have no issues with it. It provides clean and neat brows in seconds! I've also tried the big head on other areas like my legs and armpits, and to be honest the results were very similar.

Would I recommend this?

Absolutely! For RM119, you get two razors (three if you count the small head's double razors), and you can easily use it to remove hair and groom/trim your brows.

And that's it for this post! As always, thanks so much for reading. See y'all in the next post!
